SPORT-BASED COUNSELLING

Sports-based counselling brings the therapeutic environment to the field/court/weight room.

Sports-based counselling sessions are currently one-on-one and use both evidence-based practices and practical applications. In this realm, I also take an integrated approach to counselling which utilizes cognitive behavioural, narrative, and person-centred therapies.  

Sports can play a vital role in our lives and development, however, not everyone can fully understand or appreciate the hardships that they can bring. From the pressure to perform, coming back from injury, balancing life and sport, complex player-coach relationships, and everything in between, we can work together to make sense of it all and continue to grow. 

This is a topic that I hold close to my heart, as I have gone through my own journey with high-level sports and mental health. It has always been a passion to give back to the community and help athletes get the most out of their experiences, setting the stage for the rest of their lives.
